Who We Are

The Central Canadian District is a group of churches and initiatives that are part of a family of churches and Christian movement called “The Christian and Missionary Alliance Canada” or more simply “The Alliance Canada.” This group was inspired by the work of a Canadian leader and pastor named Albert Benjamin Simpson in the 1880’s. Today The Alliance is represented by almost 500 churches and New Ventures across the country. The vision is best captured in a prayer we simply call “our vision prayer”:

O God, with all our hearts, we long for You. Come, transform us to be Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, Mission-focused people, multiplying disciples everywhere.

The CCD is one of six regional districts across the country dedicated to serving, equipping, resourcing and celebrating God’s grand work of redeeming and restoring individual lives and stories. While unique and diverse, we share the same DNA of connecting people and communities with the mission and person of Jesus. Our work is centred in Canada but in no way limited to our borders as we send dozens of called and gifted men and women to take the story of Jesus to the nations.

Who can find their home in the CCD? Anyone and everyone is welcome! In the light of the story of immigration in Canada, we are increasingly being gifted in the CCD with a mosaic of humanity including but not limited to those of Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Middle Eastern, Latino, South East Asian, African, and European heritage.

Regardless of race, religious background, age or socio-economic background—whatever your story looks like—there are places and spaces for you to explore the Christian faith and find abundant and eternal life with Jesus.
