2019 District Retreat Theme: Harmony

In art, harmony consists of different colours, shapes, values and space coming together to create one beautiful masterpiece. In music, various instruments, voices, musical notes and volumes result in one harmonious feast for the ears. Even a cupcake has harmony!

In God's kingdom, harmony is the intentional act of interdependence amid a diverse people for the sake of a united goal. It is the quality of interdependence within tension and diversity. It is the state of freely knowing who you are, whose you are, and where you are going together with others.

Within the life of the triune God, harmony is seen in the unity with distinction of the one God eternally existing in relational exuberance as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In November at District Retreat, we are going to be exploring what it looks like to embrace the tension of our diverse alliance from the freedom of knowing who we are and whose we are in Christ, so that we can be an interdependent movement reaching the unchurched with God.

Who is speaking @ retreat?

Darryl Buckle

Darryl Buckle

Darryl Buckle is the Lead Pastor at Erin Village Alliance Church and the regional network coach for the KWG network.

Darryl is passionate about story telling, and helping people recognize God in their story so they can be a voice of the good news that’s happening all around us.

Next to Jesus, Darryl’s first love is Luana, his second, third and fourth are his kids and, wrapping up the top 5, is the chase.

Darryl loves the chase. As a serial chaser of goals, growth and personal development, Darryl continues to learn that people are capable of way more than they think they are, but for the rest, God has given us His Spirit who invites us to follow Him into the impossible.  IF you don’t know Darryl, he’d love to meet you and talk about why everyone needs a great church close to home, or small towns, or how we can as a church do a better job communicating the good news to people who could really use some.

Get ready for worship

Click the button to listen to the Apple Playlist for retreat - start imprinting these words in your heart & minds so you are fully ready to enter in our worship times together @ retreat.

Accommodations @ Horseshoe

The rooms at Horseshoe Resort DO NOT have pull-out couches NOR do they offer cots so if a room has 2 queen beds, it sleeps up to 4 people comfortably. If you are planning to share a room and/or bring your family, please bear this in mind. Should you require 2 rooms, please email Lisa AFTER you register and we can help you book a second room.

Group Activities

We really try NOT to schedule every minute of your retreat because we know that can be exhausting, which is the opposite of what a retreat should do for your heart & soul. When we plan the schedule, we prioritize space for you to rest, be an introvert, reconnect with God and your spouse, journal or whatever else you want to do.

And for all you extroverts, for the people who enjoy connecting through activity, for those with high energy levels, we've planned a couple optional activities for you: A Sign Making Workshop & Axe Throwing! More details on the registration page.

Kids Program

Want to share the retreat experience with your kids? We have a program planned for them too! Programming will be made available during main retreat sessions. The ticket price for children will cover the cost of food & programming (kids under the age of 4 get their food for free).

This year we are accepting kids from the ages of 2 to 12 - register early as spots fill up fast!

*This program is subject to change, any changes will be reflected online.
